WELCOME TO OUR HOSPITALITY PAGE

Welcome to our Hospitality page. You may be a first time guest of ours interested in our MISSION, or yo may be someone looking to serve. In either case, we hope this information will be of help to you.

Our MISSION Statement:
- is to create a life-giving atmosphere where all people feel welcome and accepted.

Specifically:
- We want you to feel God’s presence at our services. We feel that tending to your needs in an unfamiliar environment will enhance your experience and allow you to relax, to join in worship, to have the desire to return, and to tell your friends.

Hospitality includes distributing information, tending to your needs during your visit, and following-up after your visit. Furthermore, hospitality should help to identify needs, to establish relationships, to identify interests, to make introductions, etc.

Is our Hospitality Team for you?

Our Hospitality team is new and changing and we are looking for people who:
  • Enjoy helping others
  • Want to meet people and connect them with others
  • Realize that each of us is a minister and hospitality is a way of reaching people
  • Are willing to serve at least one service per week on a monthly basis
No experience is necessary - Training is provided

Serving

Serving can be done at the service you attend or at a different service. Each service has a huddle 30 minutes prior to the start of the service. The huddle is to share relative information and to create a sense of team.

Our goal is to have some people serving multiple weeks in a row so visitors can see familiar faces. Most people serve on a monthly basis but some serve on a full time basis and some on a weekly basis. No matter what your schedule, if hospitality is an interest to you, we need your help and will work you in.

Opportunities

Hosts/Users

In many ways these roles may be interchangeable.

A host/usher may have an assigned location, but should be willing to escort guests to varioius places (nursery, resttooms, classrooms, etc.).

A host is to remain at assigned area until 10 minutes following the start of the worship service to warmly receive latecomers.

An user is to remain in the rear of the sanctuary during the service to receive latecomers and be ready to assist in emergencies or spontaneous needs. Other responsibilites include handing out bulletins, seating attenders, collecting the offering, and 'tidying up' pews and heavily traveled area following each service.

Hosts/Ushers are also asked to participate in 'exit greeting' from their assigned location at the close of the service. A host/usher will be scheduled for on month at a time, and is expected to secure a replacement if unable to attend.

Parking

An extension of the host team. Parking Attendants help guests and attenders find appropriate parking in handicapped, visitor, or remote parking areas. Parking attendants are scheduled for one month at a time, and are expected to secure a replacement if unable to attend.

Refreshments

An extension of the host ministry. Set up/maintain/clean up light refreshments on a Sunday morning. Easch service has members scheduled on a rotational basis. This ministry is a tag-team approach as there will be different people responsible for the refreshments at each service.

Training

Training is provided during the Sunday morning Huddles and during a two-session Hospitality class, offered twice a year.

Hospitality Huddles are held 1/2 hour before each service in room 203. Every hospitality team member participating on a prticular Sunday is expected to be there for the purpose of prayer and information.

The Hospitality 120 class is held on two consecutive Sunday mornings, for one hour each. This class has been developed by First Church hospitality leaders and provides pertinent, up-to-date information for all who want reach out to our guests.
